Each time we go on a trip, we love getting things from those unique gift shops.. who doesn't? But, it can get expensive fast if you try and get a bunch of stuff from each trip and you're taking 6-8 trips a year. So, we've found a few things we love that we get on each trip!
1. A Coffee Mug, sometimes 2.
This is a must for us. We've only started recently doing it. Sounds nostalgic, but each time we drink from the mug in the mornings (for example, Acadia National Park) - we end up talking about different memories/mishaps/stories from that trip. we love it!
2. A Hoodie/Shirt.
Can't have too many hoodies, right? lol. The big decision is often which one to get - all depends on price and weather! We wear them all the time.
3. A Sticker, or several stickers.
Whether it's a city, national park, or just a cool town or epic location, we try and grab a sticker if they have them. We have a framed metal board in our house that has stickers, some tickets from shows we've been to, polaroid pics, and more from every trip we've taken and most every place we've been. it's filling up quick - may have to get another board soon 😂😂
4. A rock.
My grandmother had a massive rock collection from states all over the US and countries all over the world that she began many years ago. In her collection is some super unique rocks too - a rock from the Berlin Wall, a rock from the White House lawn, a rock from the Golden Gate Bridge, a rock from the Louvre in Paris, and a bunch more.
Before she passed away, she wanted me to have the rock collection and carry it forward. I was thrilled. So, each trip we take, we add to it!
